This easy Vegan Chipotle Mayo is so lavishly creamy with a perfect spice level. Its bursting with smoky and zesty flavors. Easy to make and perfect to spread over your burgers, sandwiches and fries.
This chipotle mayo is everything that you want in your sauce. It has the right amount of chipotle peppers and the perfect tangy and smoky taste to compliment your other dishes.
I made my oil free vegan mayo as a base for this chipotle mayonnaise and added some more flavors to it. It has umami flavors and so versatile at the same time.
What are chipotle peppers?
Basically, chipotle peppers are dried and smoked jalapeno peppers. Hence, they are ripe jalapenos which reaches its peak when they turn red.
In this recipe I used canned chipotle peppers in adobo sauce to give that extra kick. It really worked great and makes this the best vegan chipotle mayo. Also, my chipotle pasta is a must try.
Therefore, let’s dive deep into making this vegan chipotle mayo recipe.
Ingredients for homemade chipotle mayo
Oil free vegan mayo
Chipotle pepper in adobo sauce
Cumin powder
Onion powder
Garlic powder
Lemon juice
Salt
These are very simple ingredients to find most of which are usually stocked in our pantry.
Ingredients notes:
Chipotle pepper in adobo sauce – I used canned ones because I wanted to add a little more sauce to this recipe to bring out the exact smoked flavor in it. Moreover, it is convenient as well to use the canned ones.
Cumin powder – this compliments the smoky taste and aroma.
Onion powder – this enhances the subtle smoked flavor.
Garlic powder – in the original vegan mayo I used dried garlic and here I used garlic powder and they both have their roles to enhance the final taste of this recipe.

How to make Vegan Chipotle Mayo
Firstly, I blended the oil free vegan mayo in a high-speed blender. You may also combine all the ingredients of regular vegan mayo along with the rest of the ingredients for convenience.
Secondly, I blended it smooth until it was creamy.
Next, I spooned it out and adjusted the taste with salt and lemon juice.
Lastly, I served it as sandwich spread and it was delicious.
Many times, I end up licking the spreading knife because its so amazingly tasty. Hence, it our recent favorite and so convenient to make also.

For convenience, I often combine all the ingredients in the blender including the regular and chipotle mayo and blend it smooth. It might a take an extra minute its super convenient.
Refrigerate it in an air tight glass container for about 3 weeks.
Basically, smoked chipotle peppers along with onion powder and garlic powder are blended along with traditional mayonnaise and then made tangy by adding lots of lemon juice and plus salt to taste.
Chipotle mayo and chipotle aioli are both creamy and zesty and works the same. They have the same ingredients too. So, they are the same things. But traditional aioli and mayo are both creamy but have distinct different flavors because aioli is made from olive oil and garlic and mayo is made with eggs and canola oil.
