What is tahini?
It is basically sesame seeds ground into a creamy paste form. Sometimes, it is blended with oil to make a smooth paste and also flavored with salt. It is slightly bitter in taste but when combined correctly with the right ingredients it tastes wonderful. It nutty, bright and rich in taste and texture.

Ingredients for creamy lemon tahini dressing
Tahini paste
Lemons
Garlic powder
Salt
Black pepper
Maple syrup
Black pepper
I have used these easy 7 ingredients to make it the best tahini dressing recipe. Also, it made in only one bowl which is super convenient.
Ingredients notes:
Tahini – it is different for Chinese sesame paste so make sure to buy a good quality tahini. Its light in color and creamy and has a pouring consistency. It should be smooth and not chunky.
Lemons – I used large yellow lemon to squeeze fresh juice and also to zest it for refreshing aroma and flavor.
Garlic powder – you may grate fresh garlic clove but I like to use garlic powder so that it mixes well.
Maple syrup – this is a wet sweetener that I like to use this in this lemon tahini salad dressing.

How to make Lemon Tahini Dressing
Firstly, in a bowl, I combined tahini, lemon juice along with its zest, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Then, I whisked it.
As soon at it starts to turn thicken, I added maple syrup to it. Then, I whisked it again.
Lastly, I poured in water and whisked it nicely so that all the ingredients blends well and yet it has a pouring consistency.
I always make this creamy tahini sauce in bulk and keep it refrigerated so I can enjoy my meals with convenience.
Expert tips:
- It is important to mix the ingredients after whisking every time for better blending of ingredients.
- Make sure to add cold tap water or room temperature water.
This can be refrigerated in an air tight glass container for about 2 weeks. If it thickens then add 1-2 tbsp. water and stir it before serving.
Its slightly earthy in taste along with the perfect balanced tangy flavor and mildly sweetened to balance its bitter taste.
Simply drizzle it over your salads or use as a spread in your sandwiches/burger. If you love falafels then drizzle it over them.
