Jalapeno Cheese Pasta is thick, creamy, rich and decadent meal for any day of the week. It’s easy and takes no more than 10 minutes to be served on the table.
The bonus point of this pasta recipe is that the jalapeno cheese sauce is made with NO cashew nuts. Instead I used one of the super foods, Hemp Seeds to blend the delicious and aromatic pasta sauce.
I came up with this Jalapeno Cheese Pasta recipe because of my love for pasta. It’s been a while since I have been craving for creamy pasta sauce. However, not cashew based one.
In my endeavor to come up with something different I kept trying a variety of cheese sauce. I finally found my love recipe….. Jalapeno Cheese Pasta recipe.
About Hemp Seeds
In my attempt to use hemp seeds and increase the nutritional value of the recipe I found this delicious pasta sauce. Hemp seeds are one of the super foods and extremely nutritious. These versatile seeds can be used in any form like smoothies, salads, energy bars. I decided to use it for my Jalapeno Cheese Pasta recipe. My idea was to make a healthy and satisfying pasta dish.
Nutritional yeast is a good source of protein and is rich in amino acids. With the combination of hemp seeds and nutritional yeast blended with lightened coconut milk and flavored with fresh jalapeno. This Jalapeno Cheese Pasta is a must try.
How to make Jalapeno Cheese Pasta
Firstly, I combined all the cheese sauce ingredients in a blender and blended it smooth.
Secondly, I combined the blended cheese sauce in a saucepan and coked it until thick and creamy.
Next, I sauteed jalapeno in oil and poured the cheese sauce in it.
Then, I tossed in cooked pasta and served it hot.
I feel as if I am obsessed with nutritional yeast because I love it so much. It gives a wonderful cheesy flavor to all the dishes. It’s a must have for all those cheese lovers who wants to enjoy cheese and yet be on a plant based diet.
You may have noticed recently, that I am coming up with more dinner ideas for weekdays. My idea is to make weekdays more happening. After a long tiring day everybody wants comforting food.
Most of the time, I always look forward to eating at home on a weekday. I crave for nutritious, easy, quick and flavorful dinner to relax with family and my favorite TV shows.

Jalapeno Cheese Pasta
Ingredients
- 1 cup hemp seeds
- 3/4 cup unsweetened coconut milk (tetra pack/carton)
- 1/2 cup nutritional yeast flakes
- 1 tsp dried garlic
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chopped jalapeno pepper
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 2 cups cooked penne pasta (whole grain/regular/GF)
Instructions
- In a blender combine hemp seeds, coconut milk, nutritional yeast, garlic, lemon juice, salt and ¼ cup chopped jalapeno. Blend it until smooth and creamy.
- Heat oil in a pan and saute the rest of the jalapeno for few seconds or until golden. Pour the blended jalapeno cheese sauce into it. Cook for couple of minutes stirring continuously until few bubbles. (Don’t let it dry).
- Turn off the flame and toss in cooked pasta.
- Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes
- I included the seeds of jalapeno to spice the cheese sauce a bit. Feel free to remove the seeds to reduce the spice level of this pasta if desired.

Excellent idea to use hemp seeds considering the price of nuts! Jalapenos are generally used in Italian pasta dishes which makes a tasty and healthy dish.

This looks yummy! I’m pinning this for future reference. I don’t know how easy it is to get hemp seeds in New Zealand- could you substitute anything for them?
