Fresh Pomegranate blended with citrus, sweetened with honey and flavored with fresh mint. I could not have asked for a tastier and healthier punch to serve on any occasion.
Pomegranate is rich in iron, full of antioxidant and antibacterial properties. This beautiful and delicious fruit is low in calories and fights many diseases. It has vitamin K which helps in maintaining strong and healthy bones. Pomegranate is a winter fruit but starts to fill in the market since fall. I always buy fresh pomegranates when in season and this time I had extra incentive because I wanted to create a homemade punch from scratch.
Usually when I host any party I prefer serving fruit punch but I never liked the synthetic taste that is available in the store bought punch beverage. Also too much sugar is added in those cans which adds to too much calories. I wanted to innovate healthy and fresh punch made from natural ingredients. I prefer making most of the food items at home specially beverages so that the kids can also enjoy without any restrictions. Hence I came up with Minty Pomegranate Punch made with fresh pomegranate and lightly flavored with fresh mint leaves. Since its winter I blended Minty Pomegranate Punch with cold water so that the kids can have fun without inviting any sore throat and adults can add crushed ice and enjoy this flavorful and super healthy punch guilt free. 🙂
