Water, the important beverage for our daily survival has several health benefits and since ages we have been told to drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. I, myself wrote in my earlier health articles to drink at least 8 glasses of water but I learnt the real and tangible benefits of water when I experienced it myself.
Many of us don’t believe in just what is told or written and want to learn through experience or accept after applying practically on oneself. I am also among those who likes to experiment some health tips before sharing with you all. In the past few days while experimenting on myself with drinking more water my belief became stronger that water has several health benefits.
Looking at the health benefits of water we can say that water is sacred and the most important component of our daily life. I am not a person who always consumed lots of water like many people do and just thought of it as a beverage to satisfy thirst or keep dehydrated. But water has far many health benefits which I recently learnt from my experience.
Here I share the benefits that I experienced when I consumed 8 glasses of water:
1. In the morning after waking up the first thing I did was to drink a glass of water. I started with half a glass and then gradually moved to one glass of water and to my surprise my stomach was clear and I felt so much lighter and energetic.
2. When I drank 8 glasses of water at intervals throughout the day I realized I was getting a lot less tired than earlier. My mind was sharper and my thoughts were clearer.
3. I was able to lose some weight with 8 glasses of water because now I was eating only as much was required. Water helped me with portion control tremendously. Earlier I used to eat more because I thought I was hungry and felt restless afterwards but when I started drinking more water I realized that my body needed water not food and I was replacing the need of water with food thereby adding more calories to my diet.
4. My skin was hydrated enough with drinking more water and glowed even more. I felt more energized because my muscles and the entire body were properly hydrated.
If I conclude the health benefits of drinking 8 glasses of water based on my experience:
Water not only helps in hydration but also helps in the functioning of kidneys properly thereby preventing kidney stones.
Improves the skin tone.
Increase energy levels and helps in better breathing.
Controls excess intake of calories.
Prevents constipation.
Controls the right body temperature and prevents any kind of aches and or pain of the body.
Drinking 8 glasses of water promotes good metabolism.
It took me quite a while to realize the benefits of drinking adequate water and follow it regularly. But now I maintain my water diary where I log regularly to make sure my daily water intake is maintained and with this change in me I feel better and better every day. Now, I carry my water bottle wherever I go and I would highly recommend to all my readers to start drinking 8 glasses of water regularly if you still don’t.
You may start with 4-5 glasses and gradually increase a glass of water in every 3-4 days. It might be difficult in the beginning but eventually you will get used to the idea of drinking adequate water and you will feel the difference in you.
