Moderation is the key word for a balanced lifestyle. Here Moderation means regulating or controlling food intake and also physical activities. Too much of healthy food or too much of exercise causes imbalance of health.  Just like when we over eat or indulge too much on fried food or heavy desserts or when we spend too much time on our comfortable couches or beds then the bell starts ringing in our minds that we should do such things in moderation.  The same goes hand in hand with healthy eating and exercises too. Moderation means never over doing with eating or exercising.

When we eat too much of raw food or too much of oil free food our body stops excepting the other types of food which in turn can cause health issues. Our aim should be to make our body flexible rather than just sticking to one type of diet.

Too much exercise can cause serious injuries like ligament pull, or muscle pain and so on. We should exercise as much as our body can take the pressure. At the same time the above statement should not be taken as an excuse to not exercise at all. Exercise in moderation is required for all of us.

We should be able to include a balanced healthy diet into our regular routine but at the same time we should give in to our cravings sometimes, and hence cheat days are as important as healthy eating days.  There is no rule as to the days to follow cheat days or healthy eating days. Our body will give signals as to when to indulge in your favorite food. But again this should not be taken as an excuse to eat unhealthy every day and just keep saying to ourselves that from tomorrow I will eat healthy. That Tomorrow Never Comes.  Moderation is the answer to our all confusions.

For example: I cook all 5 days at home. I only cook healthy food with balanced nutrition and low calories but I indulge in eating out or rather in my favorite food one meal during the weekend.  At times I also indulge in 2 meals during the weekend. But I make sure to burn those extra calories during the weekend by increasing my physical activities throughout the day. This way I keep my tummy happy and by indulging in some extra physical activities I am able to spend time with my little one. I do not leave myself loose when the weekend is over and immediately I get back to my healthy diet. Hence, I never feel deprived of any type of food or cuisine and I do not go overboard with my cravings. I always keep the word Moderation in my mind and I am always happy and still able to maintain my health goals.

We should make an effort on consuming a variety of foods that is required by our body along with moderation.  We should definitely eat the food that we yearn for. We should appreciate and enjoy every bite of that food and then get back to a healthy eating track.

If you are exercising intensely you will need to take a break of a day or two  for your body to recover. Enjoy every moment of the day and relax as much as possible. But when scheduled for exercise and any physical activity participate whole heartedly and positively. Attitude and approach plays a major role in healthy living. 🙂  If you want to have a prolonged healthy lifestyle along with happiness and no deprivation then you need to find a middle line.
