Running out of ideas! Staring at the blank page/document! Don’t know what to write! Feeling tired and exhausted! Feeling irritated and frustrated! The one and only solution to all the above mentioned problems is exercise because Exercise gets the Brain’s Juices Flowing.
Why I exercise everyday (My personal story):
I was always fond of writing but would often run out of ideas. I was not an active person physically and a result I was not mentally very active also. When sometimes I wanted to pen down my ideas, I would stare at blank pages and eventually give up writing. At work, it used to take me days just to write even a one -page document because my mind had become lethargic. I always used my work schedule as an excuse for not exercising.
One day, I was given a deadline and my job was at stake. I was extremely worried and embarrassed. I again sat down in front of my laptop and stared at the blank word document. Suddenly, a thought crossed my mind: what example am I setting for my daughter? That thought stirred me and I got onto my feet and went out for a 30 minutes long walk. I felt wonderful, rejuvenated and I was full of ideas. I came straight to my laptop, wrote my document and met the deadline. I was suddenly a different person.
I realized the benefits of exercise.
- Exercise helps in blood circulation in the body which again helps regulate oxygen in the skin
- Exercise helps in toning of the muscles
- Exercise helps in being active mentally and physically
- Exercise helps in weight management
- Exercise burns calories
- Exercise improves creativity
- Exercise jump starts good mood
- Exercise protects us from back pains and many diseases like hypertension, diabetes and so on
- Exercise releases stress.
Now, I exercise regularly for at least 30 minutes every day. I am an active person, my creativity has come back to me, I don’t feel the stress any more and more importantly I was able to lose some weight because of my regular exercise routine.
Exercise can be of different styles like:
- Running/jogging
- Walking
- Pilates
- Yoga
- Crunches
- Different forms of dance style
- Aerobics
- Meditation and so on.
Adapt an exercise routine that suits your schedule, your body, and yourself. Exercise should become fun and entertainment rather than a forced routine. Unless you enjoy exercise it won’t benefit you in any way.
