Smoothies are my favorite go to recipe. I can simply live on smoothies. Whenever I am falling short of ideas to fuel my system I always blend some nutritious and refreshing smoothie. They are hydrating, nourishing and delectable. I especially love the combination of fruits and veggies in my smoothie. Recently, I have started adding more natural protein to my smoothie which I think is more cost effective and healthier. I don’t get store bought protein powders anymore and I am able to save on some processed food in my diet. Happy me 🙂

The raw ingredients in a blender in shown in this image.

Ingredients for Chia Hemp Green Smoothie

Spinach
Kale
Hemp seeds
Chia seeds
Banana
Dates
Almond milk

You might find hundreds of smoothie recipe in my blog and that is because I am smoothie crazy. In fact I have made my dear husband crazy for smoothies as well. We are so addicted to smoothies that we cannot live without this healthy drink even for a day. We are one smoothie crazy family!

I like the fact that smoothies are extremely easy to blend. It’s just about a combination of healthy ingredients. With smoothies on my mind I notice that my shopping cart is healthier because it contains more fresh fruits and veggies. I was never fond of frozen food but once in a while I indulged into them. However, recently I am totally out of it and smoothies have taken over our diet completely.

I prefer using baby spinach and baby kale for my green smoothie. They mellow down the flavor and the smoothies do not have the bitter taste especially from kale. However, if you are kale fan you may use adult kale and enjoy this smoothie.

The quantity of sweetener is totally your choice.

For me – I used 2 pitted dates to have a strong taste of the greens.

For my family – I used 4-6 dates to increase the sweetener and especially for my little one I even increased the liquid a bit for her to swallow easily.

Therefore, it is quite exciting that this Chia Hemp Green Smoothie allows you to be creative and let you make your own smoothie.

I am sure you will love this green smoothie as much as we did. If you get a chance to blend this smoothie then please leave your feedback in the comments below along with the ratings.

Just tried it because I always have a lot of spinach and kale to use up after cooking dinner, and this worked perfect! The dates add the perfect amount of sweetness and the chia and hemp seeds add a nice gritty texture that I enjoy.
    Great recipe!
