  • 1/2 cup pomegranate kernels (fresh/frozen)
  • 1 whole ripe plum (seed removed)
  • 4 large fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup/agave
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup crushed ice


  • In a blender combine all the ingredients and blend it smooth.
  • Strain it and serve immediately.


  • I usually don't strain this smoothie for myself to include fiber in my diet. But feel free to strain it or enjoy as is. 
  • For non-vegan version you may use honey as a sweetener as the same measurement mentioned in the recipe for maple syrup.
  • For kids, make sure to strain it as they may not like to chew on pomegranate seeds.
  • This smoothie tastes best when served immediately.
