  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp white sesame seeds
  • 1 14 oz extra firm pack tofu (pressed, drained, chopped)
  • 1 cup roughly chopped red onion
  • 1/2 cup red bell pepper (squared into 1/4 inch)
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper (squared into 1/4 inch)
  • 1 tsp dried garlic
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 3 tsp maple syrup
  • 3/4 tsp cayenne pepper powder
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt as per taste

  • Heat oil in a wok and add sesame seeds.
  • When the seeds start to crackle add tofu and cook until light golden in color.
  • Add onion, red and green bell peppers. Mix and cook for 1 minutes.
  • Add rest of the ingredients and cook uncovered for 5-7 minutes.
  • Serve warm over brown rice and enjoy.

Olive oil can also be used in this recipe if you do not have sesame oil. I have used olive oil in my video and sesame oil in the previous version of the recipe. Both ways the recipe would taste the same.
