When the sun is at its peak we desire to quench our thirst frequently with some cooling refreshments. It becomes all the more welcoming if our beverage in hydrating and healthy being low in calories and yet big on flavors.
So, last weekend when the weather was warm, sky was clear, my family was engaged in outdoor fun activities, I decided to welcome them inside with this healthy and refreshing Apricot Cucumber Chia Smoothie.
Cucumber is a hydrating food with very low calories and perfect healthy food ingredient for summer, apricots are summer fruits and they add natural flavors to any beverage with its tangy, juicy and sweet texture and I added some soaked chia seeds to increase the protein content of the smoothie to make it filling and replenishing after sweating and coconut water is high in potassium and helps the body to fight dehydration in the summer months.
My family loved this idea of Apricot Cucumber Chia Smoothie after tiring outdoor sports. They enjoyed this beverage to their hearts content and they regained so much energy after drinking this that they went out for another round of biking 🙂
